Introduction
InStockRx is a marketplace with which licensed retail pharmacies can buy and sell prescription medications with each other.
To assist our pharmacies' in light of their obligations under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), InStockRx has created this site to permit the easy exchange of transaction history data in the form of EPCIS files.
What We Do
InStockRx allows pharmacies to search for medications at other pharmacies and to buy surplus medication from each other. When these medications are sent from one pharmacy to another, InStockRx creates appropriate EPCIS files.
What You Do
Many pharmacies use DSCSA provider services to store EPCIS files that record transaction history on their behalf. Typically, these EPCIS files are created by manufacturers and wholesalers. InStockRx also creates these files. A DSCSA provider retrieves these files on behalf of their pharmacy clients and stores them to assist their pharmacies in their efforts to comply with DSCSA requirements. We expect that in most cases that users of this site will be DSCSA providers acting on behalf of their pharmacies.
What You And We Want To Do
We want to send EPCIS files that record transaction history on behalf of the pharmacies using our marketplace to our pharmacies' DSCSA providers. As a DSCSA provider, you want to be able to easily configure a secure channel on behalf of your pharmacies to receive the EPCIS files we are creating on their behalf.
What This Site Does
This site allows you as a DSCSA provider to register with us and configure a secure communication channel through which we will send EPCIS files to you. The supported channels are:
Once you have configured a secure communications channel, you can do the following using our APIs:
- Send EPCIS files to us
- Configure queries or subscriptions to receive EPCIS files from us that match certain parameters such as:
- Pharmacy GLN
- Pharmacy NPI
What Else We Want To Do
We at InStockRx also want to securely retrieve EPCIS files from you, the DSCSA provider. As a seller on InStockRx, your pharmacies will be providing transaction history documentation to buyers. In order to seamlessly provide a full history, we want to retrieve EPCIS files from you to include in that history. We will be looking to retrieve files related to specific SGTINs. Please contact us at info@instockrx.com so that we can integrate with you to retrieve these EPCIS files on behalf of our mutual clients.
