Communication
Receiving Messages From Us
Once you have configured your secure communications channel, you can use it to receive messages from us.
We will send you EPCIS files via one of the three communications channels that we support:
- AS2
- RESTful API
- SFTP
We will use the one you choose when you configure your company and its secure communications channel.
Queries and Subscriptions
In order for us to send you EPCIS files, we need to know the EPCIS files you want to recieve. You can let us know which ones you are interested in by creating queries and subscriptions.
Queries
A query is a one-time request for us to send you EPCIS files via your secure communications channel.
You can create a query on this site by clicking on the "Queries" link on the top nav bar, by using our RESTful API or by sending us an EPCIS file that contains a query (see below for details on sending us messages).
When using the website or our RESTful API, you can specify the following parameters. You will receive EPCIS files via your secure communications channel that match these parameters.
- NPI
- NDC
- GLN
- GTIN
- SGTIN
- Lot
- Starting Date
- Ending Date
We expect that for most purposes, you will be interested in creating queries that use NPI or GLN in order to receive all EPCIS files we create that involve one of your client pharmacies.
Subscriptions
A subscription functions just like a query, except that it is not a one-time search. With a subscription, you will receive EPCIS files on an ongoing basis that match your parameters.
You can create a subscription on this site by clicking on the "Subscriptions" link on the top nav bar, by using our RESTful API or by sending us an EPCIS file that contains a subscription (see below for detail on sending us messages).
The parameters for subscriptions created on this site or via our RESTful API are the same as for queries.
Sending Messages To Us
We will want to configure EPCIS subscriptions with you that specify either the pharmacy NPI or GLN, or medication GTIN or SGTIN. Please get in touch with us so that we can understand how best to configure these subscriptions with you: info@instockrx.com
To send us EPCIS files that contain this information, or to send us queries or subscriptions via EPCIS, you can send us a message.
There are three ways to send us a message:
- AS2
- Using This Site
- RESTful API
Send Message Via AS2
To send us a message via AS2, configure your AS2 server to send us messages
Send Message Via This Site
To send us a message via this site, just navigate to the "Messages section" using the top nav bar. You can create and send a message to us securely on that page.
Send Message Via Our RESTful API
To send us a message via our RESTful API create an API Key, and then use our messages API to send us a message.
Next: Logs
For next steps, please read our logs guide that will give you a quick overview of how we keep logs of the messages we send to you and you send to us.
